Dispensary

The dispensary is open from 08:00 to 18:30 Monday-Friday

From the 1st October 2022, a new enhanced access timetable was launched nationwide and you can now see a GP or other healthcare professional during:

• weekday evenings between 18:30 and 20:00
• Saturdays and Sundays
• These appointments offered could be:
• at your registered practice
• another local GP practices
• another local NHS service - such as a General Practice Hub

What type of appointments will be available?

Early morning and evening appointments between 18:30 – 20:00 Monday to Friday will be offered by a practice in your area. These appointments will be offered by a range of clinical professionals.

Borough Green Medical Practice is providing these appointments on Mondays (between 18:30-20:00), Tuesdays (between 07:00-08:00) and Thusdays (between 18:30-20:00) and between 18:30 to 19:30.  

Patients registered with the practice are also able to access appointments with a GP at two designated sites from 09:00am to 17:00pm on a Saturday.

These can be booked either via the reception team or by calling NHS111

Who can book these appointments?

Enhanced Access appointments as above are available for patients registered with Borough Green Medical Practice. However, it will be unlikely that you will be seen by your usual GP.

 How can I book an appointment? 

In order to book these appointments, you contact your Practice reception staff as normal. You will not be able to phone the reception staff on Saturdays, Sundays / Bank Holidays or between 18:30 to 20:00 Monday to Friday.

You can only attend these appointments if you have pre-booked.  If you do not have an appointment and require medical attention when the surgery is closed please call 111.

When the surgery is closed you may call NHS 111.

Please do not ask to see a doctor out of hours unless you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

In an emergency Call 999 - chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.

111 online is a fast and convenient alternative to the 111 phone service and provides an option for people who want to access 111 digitally. 

Your needs will be assessed and you will be given advice about whether you need:

• Treat yourself at home
• Go to a Primary Care Centre

If you need face to face medical attention you may be asked to attend a Primary Care Centre.

The Practice will close on the following afternoons from 13:00.  These closures are set by West Kent Clinical Commissioning Group (WKCCG) and are to ensure that Primary Health Care Teams are getting the essential training and development needed to ensure delivery of the best possible service to patients.  

When the surgery is closed there will be an On Call service running during these events and these dates will also be displayed in the surgery premises and on the surgery door. If you have an urgent need for medical attention please call 111. In an emergency continue to call 999. Please remember to collect your repeat prescriptions outsides of these times.
