SHIELDING EXTREMELY VULNERABLE PATIENTS

As you may be aware the government have sent over a million letters to patients advising them that they are in a ‘severely vulnerable at risk’ group and should isolate for the next 12 weeks.   These letters were produced using hospital data and not data from GP Practices. As a result the government announced that the GP practices will be writing to additional patients.   As you may have noticed, there has been a delay in this process centrally by NHS England / NHS Digital. We have been informed that we can now send the additional letters to those patients we have identified as meeting the criteria to be in the shielded group. These will be sent by 15th April at the latest.  If we have your mobile number we will text you to tell you the letter is on its way.

Violence Statement

The practice considers aggressive behaviour to be any personal, abusive and/or aggressive comments, cursing and/or swearing, physical contact and/or aggressive gestures.

The practice will request the removal of any patient from the practice list who is aggressive or abusive towards a doctor, member of staff, other patient, or who damages property.

All instances of actual physical abuse on any doctor or member of staff, by a patient or their relatives will be reported to the police as an assault.
